On August 14, another virtual training session organised by FINA for athletes took place.
FINA Development and Education Department has been running virtual training sessions since July 2020. The idea of this format is to unite and jointly train scholarship holders from all centres: the centre in Kazan (Russia), training centres in Florida (USA) and Phuket (Thailand).
At the beginning of the training, the athletes were greeted by the head of FINA Development and Education Department, Pere Miró. Then the athletes started the online workout. During an hour, representatives of each centre conducted their own block of exercises. Representatives of the FINA Development Centre in Kazan held a warm-up, coaches from the United States shared the exercises of the main training block and coaches from Thailand finished the workout with stretching.
Training for swimmers and divers of the Kazan centre took place in the gym of the Volga Region State Academy of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism. During such workouts experience is exchanged, a variety of exercises is introduced and the place of training is different every time. Moreover, the Kazan scholarship programme athletes try themselves as coaches.
The first virtual training took place on July 17. About 30 people attended the workout.
