On January 9, 2021, the first diver of Fina Development Centre scholarship programme arrived in Kazan. It was Sebastian Konecki from Lithuania.
Sebastian shared with us his emotions and expectations for this year in Kazan: "When I landed in Kazan I felt a bit scared but also excited at the same time. I hope to start training as soon as possible and add more complicated dives to my list. I feel like I have to use this scholarship in the best possible way. I have only one single life, and I still have not achieved a lot, I would like to achieve much more!"
Sebastian's arrival in Kazan is a great event, first of all, for our current scholarship holder – diver Frandiel Gomez from Dominican Republic. The fact is that after the participation in the scholarship programme of our previous divers had expired, FINA Development Center in Kazan was not able to meet new athletes due to quarantine measures, and for a long period of time Frandiel had to train alone, while there were 4 of our current swimmers.
We are happy, that every day our international team is growing, our skills are improving, because while training together, with athletes from all over the World, we exchange valuable experience!
