Republican swimming competitions finished in Kazan
The swimming competitions of the Republic of Tatarstan, dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the Republican Aquatics Sports School of the Olympic Reserve "Aquatica", has finished today in Kazan.

The FINA Development Centre scholarship holders Bisma Khan (Pakistan) and Davor Petrovski (North Macedonia) took part in the second day of the competitions.

Bisma swam 50m freestyle (27.68) and 200m individual medley (2:37.61). 'I enjoyed participating in this event. At the final competitions of this year, I gained experience and I came to know the mistakes that need to be worked on,' the athlete says. Davor Petrovski competed in the 50m freestyle (25.27), 50m butterfly (26.63) and 200m individual medley (2:10.99).

Gulnara Garipova, a head coach of the FINA Development Centre in Kazan:

'Athletes of the FINA Development Centre took part in the final competitions of this year. I am glad that they do not relax and do not give up because of the situation in the world related to COVID-19, they train and show decent results. Arina has set a Latvian record in the 800m freestyle, personal best in the 100m freestyle, Bisma has updated Pakistan's record in the 100m individual medley. The year turned out to be not easy for everyone, especially for athletes, because all international competitions were cancelled, the Olympic Games were postponed, but we did good. I wish everyone patience, new victories and, most importantly, health in 2021. Happy New Year!'
