Pakistan is situated in South Asian Region. Neighbouring countries are India, China, Iran and Afghanistan. The capital of Pakistan is Islamabad, which is the most beautiful capital in the world. About 60 languages are spoken in Pakistan, which is a country of four province.
Pakistan officially is the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. It is the fifth populous country with population exceeding 212.2 million, by area it is the 33rd largest country. In addition, Pakistan has the second highest peak in the World K2 Mountain.
Speaking about my hometown Lahore, it is the second largest city of Pakistan and 18th largest city in the world. It is known as a city of gardens. Lahore was known in ancient times as Lavapuri (City of Lava). This city is located in central eastern part of country.
Sports in Pakistan is a significant part of the culture. Cricket is the most popular sports in Pakistan. While field hockey, polo and squash are popular too.
The Pakistan Sports Board was created in 1962. Over recent years there has been an increase in sporting activity in Pakistan, with Pakistani sportsmen and sportswomen participating at many national and international events. Now more and more international tournaments take place in Pakistan.
