The 16th World Swimming Championships will be held in the Republic of Tatarstan in Kazan. This was stated by the President of FINA Husain Al-Musallam.

The official ceremony of passing the FINA flag from officials to the Minister of Sport of the Republic of Tatarstan Leonov Vladimir Alexandrovich took place in Abu-Dhabi, UAE.

1,200 athletes from 190 countries are expected to participate in the 16th World Swimming Championships, with 46 medal events.

The World Swimming Championships will be supported by 1,000 volunteers.

The competition will be held from 17 to 22 December 2022 in the Aquatics palace pool.
