On January 11, 2021, a swimmer Salvador Vieira Gordo from Angola arrived in Kazan! Welcome home, dear, home for this year!
«I feel very out of my comfort zone hahah, but that's why I'm here, I find that comfort is addicting and that I train harder in new and different environments» - the very first emotions of Salvador, when felt– 20 degrees of our winter in Kazan international airport last night.
As our previous athletes, Salvador had to go far away from home to take part in our Scholarship programme. We asked Salvador, what did he feel before going to Kazan: «When coming to Kazan I was slightly nervous because it was such a huge change for me. But now as the days go by, I feel increasingly confident that I've made the right decision to come to Kazan. I have high expectations for this year in Kazan, my goal is to train as hard as possible, to push my body to the limit every day. COVID has stopped me from achieving a lot last year, so this year it will be my revenge season where I will look to redeem myself as an athlete, and hopefully make the Olympics this year».
We believe that Salvador will have a great time in Kazan! Many best things are yet to come! Just believe in yourself and never stop dreaming!
