FINA training camp is in full swing. The two teams have different tasks, but the goals are the same - to qualify for the Olympic Games in Tokyo by participating in the Russian Swimming Championships in Kazan.
Who, if not the real stars of the FINA scholarship holders, will be able to motivate them to set personal records? Especially when great joint work is taking place in one of the best pools right now – in Aquatics Palace.
The current world record holder of 200m breaststroke, two-time World Champion, Anton Chupkov, participated in a joint warm-up session, showing the basic exercises necessary for stable leg muscles.
Anton Chupkov shared his impressions of the joint training camp: «The FINA Centre is doing a great job. It's good that guys from the countries where swimming is not very well developed have the opportunity to come to Kazan, train here and communicate with each other, to compete at high-level competitions and meet the leaders of world swimming! It is always pleasant to show something new and interesting for the athletes by our example».
Also, during the training sessions, members of the Moscow swimming team gave practical advice to the scholarship holders, as well as showed some useful technical elements.
The coaches also exchanged experiences, Pavel Kutashev and Darinaa Sergeeva received some useful advice from the honored coaches of Russian national Team.
In addition, Yuliya Efimova, who recently joined the training camp, three-time Olympic medalist, had a very warm conversation with Bisma Khan (Pakistan) and Habibat Ogunbanwo (Nigeria), who from the very first moments, after arriving at the FINA Centre in Kazan, told that Yuliya was her idol and that she wanted to participate in the programme because of the famous swimmer.
Dreams come true, thanks FINA for this opportunity!
Russian stars from the world of swimming are a real example of perseverance, determination and strength!
