European part of the FINA Development team headed for European swimming championship in Budapest
Today in Budapest (Hungary) swimming competitions (50 m) will start, which will be held in the modern pool "Duna Arena" from 17 to 23 May. The strongest European swimmers will compete for medals, as well as for the qualification results necessary for the upcoming Olympic Games in Tokyo.

At the European Championships, our team of FINA Development Center scholarship holders will be represented by four swimmers. Everyone faces the main task – to fulfill the Olympic "B" standard.

May 23 – 400 m freestyle

Bernat Lomero (Andorra)
May 18 – 100 m freestyle
May 20 – 50 m butterfly
May 22 - 50 m freestyle
May 22 - 100 m butterfly

Franci Aleksi (Albania)
May 17 - 400 m freestyle

Postponed from 2020 to 2021, the main European start in Budapest is a serious test, both for the organizers and for the athletes themselves. A hard fight is expected ahead. According to the coach of the FINA Development Center Pavel Kutashev, the athletes had a very good preparatory cycle and the team as a whole is optimistic about the results in Budapest.
