On February 9, 2021, 3 Cuban athletes: swimmers - Lorena de los Angeles Gonzalez Mendoz, Luis Emigdio Vega Torres and a diver - Carlos Daniel Ramos Rodríguez arrived in Kazan.

For Lorena and Carlos this is the first time in Russia. Luis has already been in Kazan before.

We asked our new friends what did they feel when they knew they would go to Kazan?

«The truth is, that I was very excited, but at the same time I was super nervous, because I knew it was a unique opportunity for me to improve my skills every day more and more and gain valuable experience. My goal for this year is to learn, improve as much as possible, gain many experiences in competitions and to do my best every day», - commented Carlos.

«I was very happy to know that I was able to participate in the FINA Development scholarship programme and that it was a great opportunity to improve my brands and make the brand for the Olympics», - commented Luis Vega Torres.

We are really happy to meet first Cuban athletes after pandemic situation. Every day our team is getting more and more international! It means that this year will be really interesting and everyone will be able to exchange experience.
