FINA Development Centre athletes set new records at the competitions of the Republic of Tatarstan
Today, on December 23, the swimming competitions of the Republic of Tatarstan started in Kazan. They are dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the Republican Aquatics Sports School of the Olympic Reserve "Aquatica".

The sports event is held in the Aquatics Palace, in a 25-metre pool. Swimmers from sports schools and clubs of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as scholarship holders of the FINA Development Centre in Kazan, take part in the competitions.

Arina Baikova (Latvia) set her personal best (55.91) in the 100m freestyle, and also successfully performed in the 800m freestyle – 8:46.12. 'The event was great, I broke the Latvian record set by me earlier, I am very pleased with my performance, I hope it will get only better in the future,' says Arina Baikova.

Davor Petrovski (North Macedonia) competed in the 100m butterfly and 800m freestyle. Bisma Khan (Pakistan) swam 50m backstroke, and also participated in the 100m individual medley, in which she managed to show her best time – 1:08.84.

The second day of competitions will take place tomorrow.
